History Synopsis: Keico grew up in the underground subcultures of Japan. At 15 she and her best friend at the time, Seico, started stealing bikes to sell to chop shops in order to make enough money to eat.
At 16 Keico met Yukio who would become her first, and last experience with love. Yukio worked as an errand boy for the Yamamato Gumi, the largest crime family within Nipon at the time, but Yukio was already growing tired of being a wannabe-gangster.
He and Keico made plans to leave the scene soon after meeting, but Yukio's superior was not happy with this arrangement.
Through a series of wild circumstances Seico and Keico tried to politely excuse Yukio from his employment, but during their meeting with Yukio's superior, Seico was shot and killed.
Grief-stricken, and enraged, Keico avenged her friend by killing all 6 of the gumi who shot Seico.
Yukio, now knowing that he and Keico were marked for death, stepped up thier plans to run away, but when the two tried to collect some money owed to Yukio's superiors by an adult film director to fund thier escape, the police and the yakuza caught up with them.
After a bloody shootout, Yukio was killed and Keico arrested.
During her detainment a man who called himself Kenji recruited her as an informant for the police. Keico quickly rose to be one of the major sources for street information, which helped the police immensly.
At 18 Keico was agian visited by Kenji, and offered a position with an organization he called "Continuity".
Continuity, Keico later learned, was a government sponsored agency that recruited and trained "government operatives".
Assasins.
Keico excelled at her studies and within a year she was given her first assignment, and her codename: Scarab.
During a mission to eliminate a defective operative, Kabuki, Scarab was inadvertantly reuinited with Yukio was working as an orderly in the phsychiatric ward of an institution for a rival agencies operatives.
Scarab and Yukio decided to leave that world of espionage and death behind, and escape just as they had planned to so long ago.
But before they could, Scrab felt she had to make sure her one friend within the circle of the Noh, Tigerlily, was able to get out alive.
Having believed Yukio to be dead for so many years, much of Scarab's ability to detatch from her actions was shaken by this reunion. For the first time in her career as an agent, she was afraid.
In an attempt to neutralize Kabuki before Tigerlily could be killed trying, Scarab herself was killed, and Kabuki cut away any identifying marks, except the Noh Tattoo from Scarab's body to make it appear as though Kabuki was indeed dead.
Scarab has now entered the city of no name as a woman trapped not only between world, but between identities. She once believed Keico to be dead, but after seeing Yukio agian she could not reconcile the two aspects of her past and herself.
